  • Wine tasting

Georgia is considered to be the country where wine was invented. Georgians are supposed to be the people who first started producing wine in this world. Scientists have discovered remains of red wine which was made and stored in ceramic storage jars already in the Stone Age, or about 8 000 years ago. These people lived in Georgia. It is proved that they added anti-bacterial preservatives to the grape juice so that the wine could be kept for a longer period of time after the fermentation process.

Today, Georgian wines are still widely known. Therefore, what can be more natural than an evening reserved for tasting some of the most delicious Georgian wines?   The climate in Svaneti is not the best for wine production, so the wines that will be tasted come from other parts of sun covered Georgia.

The wine tasting also gives an introduction to Georgian and Svan toasting traditions.

The wine tasting can be ordered through the hotel. Booking is prefeably at least 2 days in advance.
